Performing a Television Commercial

Lesson Duration: 45 minutes
Learning Outcomes and Specific Purpose:
Students will perform to the class the television commercial script that they wrote in the previous drama class. Again through this activity 'Students consider the purpose and audience of their arts works as they experiment with various ways of presenting works in a range of arts forms, and begin to evaluate and refine their work in response to feedback.' (VCAA, n.d.)
Prerequisite knowledge and/or links to previous/future lessons:
In order to take part in this lesson, students must have completed the "Creating
a Television Commercial" lesson beforehand, as these two lessons go hand-in-hand.
Any props required by the students (chairs, tables, doors etc.)
Any Costumes required by the students
Video Recorder
Assessment:
Students will be formally assessed as a group on the creativity of their script and the quality
of their performance, in accordance to the rubric used in "Creating a Television
Commercial" (See attached file). Students' performances will also be critiqued informally by
their peers in the audience through verbal discussion.
